Domain Lookup

Inspect a domain's registration record (RDAP) and live DNS configuration in one query. Useful for brand monitoring, vendor diligence, and pre-deal name research.

Examples: anthropic.com · five-nines.com · vendor-i-just-met.io

Why this exists

When a brand-similar domain shows up in your inbox or a vendor changes its mail provider mid-deal, you want fast answers. Who registered it? When? What's the registrar? Where's the mail going? Are there DMARC and SPF records, or is the domain wide open for spoofing? Two free public sources answer these in seconds — RDAP for registration, Google's DNS-over-HTTPS for live records.

For pre-deal research, the registered date on a domain is one of the cheapest credibility signals available. A "global enterprise" with a domain registered three months ago tells you something.

Frequently asked questions

What does Domain Lookup return?

Domain registration data and similar registered names for any domain. Useful for brand monitoring (who else has registered names like yours?), typosquat awareness (is someone preparing a phishing campaign against your brand?), and domain-research.

Is this WHOIS data?

Adjacent — WHOIS data has been heavily redacted since GDPR (2018), so traditional WHOIS provides limited registrant information. This tool uses Domainsdb's public-facing aggregated registration database for similar-name discovery; it doesn't surface registrant identity.

When is this useful?

Brand-protection research, pre-naming due diligence (is the .com taken? what about variants?), and security-team monitoring for typosquats targeting your brand.
